Meaningful Measures

From paper to a digital solution for a trademarked evaluation tool

The Client

Meaningful Measures is a company that provides innovative person-centred evaluation, audit and research solutions in the areas of wellbeing and health. They created two trademarked questionnaires: MYCaW® and MYMOP®. The questionnaires help practitioners track how a client’s symptoms are progressing or improving over time and also take into consideration the effect the condition has on the individual in terms of wellbeing and day to day life. These innovative approaches have become popular and successful in treating patients.

The Brief

We needed to create a bespoke digital solution which would enhance an evaluation tool that was previously purely paper based. This aimed to gain a much wider reach and needed to be used by super admins (for research purposes),  the organisations themselves (practitioners) and their clients. Data needed to be anonymised to protect patient confidentiality and to follow GDPR guidelines.

The Challenge

We needed to build something that was user-friendly from top level super admins, through to practitioners and then their clients. All of these groups needed their own logins with the ability to have a password reminder where necessary. The data had to be anonymous in some contexts as it needed to be extracted, downloaded and used in further research; but not in others where the practitioner needed to know the results of questionnaires so they can help their clients.


The MYCaW® and MYMOP® questionnaire systems were already well-established models with specific requirements in terms of how the data was calculated and how statistics had to be reported. This meant we had to carefully work with the existing model, ensuring the digital version was an accurate representation.


A key challenge was ensuring practitioners could send out multiple follow-up questionnaires for a given client to continually track how their symptom was progressing or improving. This had to accommodate multiple follow-ups, whilst ensuring the app-wide statistics were calculated according to the initial scores vs the latest follow-up scores.

The Solution

We created a bespoke app which enabled practitioners to access the evaluation tool, send questionnaires to clients, send out follow-up questionnaires, and evaluate the results. The data had to be in a format that was measurable, so practitioners could see the progress of individual clients.  We utilised a scaffold-type admin system to rapidly put together a dashboard area which super admins (Meaningful Measures) and practitioners could all log in to, to access their relevant controls and data. 


We collaborated with Meaningful Measures at every stage with regular communication meetings and progress reports. This helped us to create the best solution for their needs and tweak things as they came up.

We were really pleased with the work that Amperative did with us.


They guided us through all the steps we needed to consider to build our digital portal from scratch and were open to working with us to make the product just as we wanted it. The team was friendly and welcoming and responded quickly to our questions. Highly recommended if you need some work doing.
