The South London Mission (SLM) is a charity based in Bermondsey, North Southwark. Since 1889, they have been working in the community. Their aim for the Mission is to be a warm, vibrant, and welcoming centre for the community that offers both practical and emotional support through a variety of outreach initiatives.
They came to us with a logo that had been updated and modified numerous times over the years, and they needed something new, bold, and recognisable to make an impact in their local community. They have a partner brand called “Bermondsey Central Hall” that needed to be taken into account during the rebranding. After the brand they wanted a new website along with an animation to promote their work.
Our objective was to ensure that the new brand retained some qualities of their original brand while also showing who they are as an organisation today. Our aim was to develop a website that helped fundraisers know how to support them, community know how to access them and for visitors to understand who they are while showcasing their logo, and being simple to update and maintain, unlike their current site.
We worked with them to create a vibrant brand, pattern, illustrations, icons, personal font and partnering brand for "Bermondsey Central Hall". The brand had life to it, a variety of patterns and illustrations to use and a clear direction. We then built and styled a website structure for them to populate and followed on with an animation to help them communicate on a multitude of platforms all about the great work they do.
